Es un [[meningioma intraventricular|meningioma intraventricular]], que ocupa el 0,1 % de todos los meningiomas

En una serie de 25 tumores de la región posterior del III ventrículo solo 1 correspondió a meningioma (Behari y col., 2011).

Se conocen solo 2 publicaciones de meningioma cordoide del III ventrículo (Song y col., 2008; Wilson y col., 2011).
